we went to columbus on saturday. it was pride day, but a combination of
our having left at 2 p.m. and the direction-giver being trashed off his
ass sent us on a wild goose chase around downtown that ended with us at
the festival as it was closing up. columbus got better, though. the
next day (we stayed with said direction giver, his roommate, and two
cuddly cats), we had smoothies that were (almost) better than sex and
met my pal Jojo for bubble tea. i like Jojo so much, and obviously i
like amber, and i had a feeling they would enjoy each other. they did,
i was pleased.
yesterday was comprised largely of the best zoo trip of my life. Amber and i went and fell in love with every creature we saw. highlights: the polar bears, the seals, the gorillas, and all of the big cats. we compared the cats to jack (the similarities are endless) and giggled over silly animal antics. we also mooned over the cute little kids and got all parental-feeling.
later, we went to see Fahrenheit 9/11. yeah. that was incredibly painful and disturbing. of course, in true Michael Moore fashion, it was also pretty funny at times, but we both came out of the theatre quite shaken. i think i'll elaborate more on that later. i am so glad to have Amber around--for everything, up to and including the best and worst.
