Ana Mendieta art picspam

Ana Mendieta is the name of the artist my poem is about - I got it wrong, she wasn't a Marielito but a Peter Pan child, one of the children sent away from Cuba by their families, whisked into the US to be adopted by a strange family to have a better life.

I googled her stuff and here it is - very body/earth, but also she does some body painting.

I swear I never saw any of this before I wrote the poem, only heard a general description by my teacher, but there are a couple of things that are uncanny. (okay technically a LOT of this is uncanny. It is wonderful.)
