Hay-sus Christae....

Jesus Christ on a cross. "Targets"... "insurgents"...."rebels"... one man's rebel is another man's freedom fighter. Has anyone taken a step back and considered that the Iraqis never wanted U.S. troops there? And yes, now that we've created a quagmire of ultimate disaster, we have a responsiblity to attempt to resolve the massive mounting conflict that we are exacerbating simply by being in that country.

I'm not saying run away and leave Iraq to it's own demise at our negligence. I am saying that more troops (which we really don't have) and more funding (which is already there) is the answer.

"Democracy is not like pizza. You can't have it delivered." Think about for a moment, I'm sure you'll get it.
Attempting to force democracy on a country that is not ready for it is unethical and radically immoral. Besides, you cannot FORCE democracy on anyone. Democracy is something that has to be wanted, understood, and fought for.
Let's go over some big examples: The American Revolution. The French Revolution.... the people decided that they were tired of a tyrannical rule so they did something about it.
The Iraqi people did not voluntarily stage a revolution.
Gee. No wonder this isn't working.

Also, I now feel it necessary to defend my patriotism, something that before Bush and 9/11 would not be necessary. I am a Patriot. I love my country, and all that it stands for. I want to be a lawyer, and possibly someday a politician or federal court judge. I want to work in the system, not run away from it. I do not advocate the Ameri-hate that is so rampant in today's world. However, I do not advocate blindly following unjust leaders either.
Patriotism is supporting your country whether you completely agree or not - it also means questioning the decisions of your government.
