Complete Basic Training

Apr 06, 2007 18:54

It was one of the most surreal days ever. I arrived at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center got adjusted in the bleachers and let the procession begin. Tim carrying his group’s flag marched out to the drill floor to graduate from naval basic training.

My youngest brother, is officially apart of the US Navy! It was strange to see him in his uniform, hear his stories of basic training. I was jealous of him. I almost regretted the decisions I made in my life. The tables in life have turned. I now look up to my youngest brother. The super hippie, the non-conformist has become some I now respect above others and now see and my personal role model.

I am proud of him. He has accomplished something I never has the balls, courage or integrity to do.

I am proud of him!

After 14 years of not seeing my grandparents I got reacquainted with them. My grandfather turns out to be one incredible guy. I have had some amazing conversations about his life. And how my mom’s and thusly my life came to be.

I have missed my grandparents and I am glad to have them back!
