Critical Mass and other bits and pieces

And now for something completely different! :D Just thought I'd share something non-EMIM related for a change. Last Saturday I took part in an event called the Critical Mass, which is pretty much a gathering of bicyclers and riding though the streets of the city, trying to point out the large numbers of bicyclers and the non-friendly environment for them within the city structure. It was lots of fun, though it was very windy and cold.

Since I have an old Holland Gazelle bicycle (her name is Gabrielle, btw *giggles*), I thought I'd hit it in Steampunk style this year in a Tweed Run manner (later I discovered that we're having the Tweed Run this Saturday! I was so excited until I realized I have work that day :C I missed it last year, too!). I altered a pair of old Marks & Spencer pants I'd gotten in a thrift store into riding breeches. At first I thought I was going to gather them at the bottom with a ribbon of the same fabric and add some fancy brass buttons, but I figured they'd be a lot more comfortable gathered with elastic. Long story short - pictures!

Loud and Proud :D (It's the Latvian flag in the background)

I saw this Iron Fist werewolf heart purse and instantly thought of the BtSSB Red Riding Hood Set! I thought they'd look so cute together, so whipped up a quick coord :)

Also, totally unrelated, but I've found a totally awesome series to watch - Lark Rise to Candleford. It's set in British Country side during the late Victorian era and it's about a girl, who moves from a small village (Lark Rise) to a small city nearby (Candleford) to work there in a post office. The story doesn't really concentrate on the girl, but more of what's happening in both places and how the lives of the people are evolving. It's very interesting and kind-hearted series. If you're into historical movies you're bound to like it, imo :)
Also there's two sisters-seamstresses (Pearl and Ruby Pratt), which remind me of the Groan sisters (Cora and Clarice) in Gormenghast.
And the outfits... Goodness, me... *faints*
