Hello From the Great State of CT!

Jul 31, 2006 12:09

Yay! As though I am travelling somewhere completely original and cool, I will post my exciting vacation news as if I am travailing through Europe like all my friends, you lucky bastards. Great pictures, Lisa, and my mom loved them too!!

I arrived in the Bradley International Airport on Saturday morning at 8:38am. It was early, it was cool. My mom came to pick me up from the airport, which was nice. We drove back to Manchester, grabbed my first round of Dunkin Donuts coffee, stopped by Manchester Honda to hug the bro quick and then home to see pops. He is so cute. I miss my parents so much! But being in CT is definately wierd. I don't think I could really come back here to live again, but who knows what this year will bring. After I arrived home, we hung out and had breakfast together, then I took a shower and we prepared to go to a bridal shower for my friend Kathryn. She is getting married in October - the first weekend - and asked me to sing. Guess what is the same weekend - Opera Columbus' production of La Traviata. I told her I would tell her when I got news of a contract, although I really wish there was a way to do both. Perhaps Bill Boggs will work something out, since the wedding is on a Sunday. Mom and I also went shopping at Kohls, where I got some new clothes. The first installment of new clothes. Woot!

We had a nice time at the shower - it was long and retarded. My lack of good attitude about weddings is just good reason why I should never get married, but whatever. She seemed really happy, albeit she looked like she was on speed, but thats just Kathryn. She is a crazy runner/perpetual worker-outer and thus she is the most ripped human being I have seen, and it makes me jealous. Thus I stuffed my face with more food. We had dinner at home that night as a family, which my mother cooed over, and my brother made fun of her about - its good to be with them again. We chilled out and I fell asleep on the couch around 9:30, and by 11:00pm, my mother was dealing with the wicked witch of the west as she attempted to wake me from my slumbering state to go slumber some more in my room. She laughed the next morning, thank God.

Sunday brought my best friend Marissa over the house. I invited her for breakfast, and she and I spent nearly three hours talking about... her. Yes, she made no effort to ask about my life, except for what I offered, which wasn't that much. She has no idea about my life in Ohio, and I don't think she much cares. But it was interesting to hear what she has been up to and how she likes school and her job and how material possessions and money are the most important things to her right now. Boy, its strange growing up sometimes. We once again got ready and went to a party, this time a party for my mother's old college roommate's 50th birthday. The house was beautiful, the property was on a small hill that you could sit on the back porch and look out at the OCEAN. That is where I want to live. My friend Sarah, whom is her daughter, looked at me like I was crazy for being so excited about Long Island Sound, but then again, she has never lived in Ohio. I went down to the beach and stood in the surf for a while, and unlike Lisa's mountain stream, the ocean was absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. Perfect. God, who knew CT could be so beautiful?

We stayed for a while, and I got pretty drunk on some vodka and diet coke. We drove home and then I ran into my brother somehow and went to hang out with him and everyone down at Dunkin Donuts, like old times. It was fun, and then we all went racing on the highway for a while - I rode with Dan and his twin brother John - its really funny now that Dan has lost weight and John has gained some how alike they really look. I will take a picture and you can see that somehow, as fate would have it, everyone has a twin somewhere. My brother was lucky to find that he lives in the same town and is interested in the same things he is. That was fun, anyhoo. We went back to Dunkin Donuts, I got the scoop from Dan's good friend Ricky and girlfriend Nicky that Dan's girlfriend Erin is being retarded and nobody likes her anymore. I found out more from Dan later that she has been pulling some really bad wool over his eyes and hanging out with boys behind his back and lying about it. Silly girl. I told him he needed to break it off, even though I like Erin. Sometimes its just not right. We drove around in his truck for a while, which I think he was glad that someone was willing to chill past 10pm on a Sunday night, since he has Monday off of work. We went over to the sand pits and off roaded in his little 4x4 truck for a while, which was so cool. He enjoyed it too because I was laughing and having a great time and he couldn't scare me with his antics. We came back around 1:30am and sat and talked about computers and electronics and life until 5am, when I started to feel shitty, so we then went to bed. My mother didnt even do the obligatory coming down the stairs with her eyes all squinty saying "go to bed" even though it's quite obvious that us staying up all night kept her up too. Ah well.

Here's to another lovely day in CT!!! I will write more later, when I have time. Yay!
