Ah, the holidays approach. They are currently creeping in like a Leopard. A Leopard on acid that has come to believe that it is a slug, and the sky is on fire. But is all seems a bit early to me. Beyond the unseasonably warm weather, something seems a bit off. The radio station we listen to at work, 93.3, switched as of yesterday to all day Christmas music. Now I love the holidays and the festive atmosphere, but please, lets wait till after thanksgiving for the Yule time tidings.
Don’t you think that Thanksgiving feels a bit in the shadows while its big bro Christmas even does as it pleases during lil' bro's month? I bet all those Indians we taught to party upon settling and discovering America on Thanksgiving Day 1862 are spinning 360s in their graves. Did you know that I was a history major?
On a side not, I finally got to visit my favorite brewery again, Amherst Brewing Company. I have tried pretty much every pumpkin spiced ale that exists in bottle form up to now, and really only one out of 8 or so made the cut. But good old ABC showed me up again with their "Crooked Antler" seasonal. Just the right amount of spices and hops...I tell you this thing was good. They also opened my eyes to Beer as dessert. The Dublin Float combines their "Two Sister's Stout" with a scoop of coffee ice-cream... I’ve been so blind... I don’t know how I missed this all last year.I find it amazing. Miyabi says, quite eloquently, that it is gross.
Peace on you my bros
