Illustration!
I am so delighted. While at WFC I got an email from John O'Neil, editor of Black Gate, with the illustration for my story Dark of the Year. It's perfect.
The main character of the story is a grandfather who is on a quest to find his infant granddaughter's name before the darkest night of the year, when demons steal unnamed children. And, in near perfect timing, it looks like this issue will be coming out just in time for the darkest night of our year :) It should be out sometime either this month or in December.
Massive props to Mark Evans, the illustrator, for hitting the mood and tone of the story so beautifully.
