I went to Houston over the weekend.
This time, I had no screaming baby on the plane (just one in the airport). Instead, I got to make a detour to Austin instead, while a storm sat over Hobby airport. I ended up taking a taxi home, which wasn't too bad--at least this time I knew how much it was going to cost. Once home, I enjoyed the sweet luxury of air-conditioning! However much I complain about Houston, I will say this: it's not too bad, as long as you have somewhere to go to get out of the heat.
The weekend was spent with friends, primarily Crystal, whose new cat proved to be just as cute as advertized. Cute, and bloodthirsty. He also apparently hates white socks. Also managed to see Val, and make contact with a few others. Sunday was the big party at Benjie's, where I met a few new people, played some games, and experienced a tofu hotdog for the first time. It was...vegetarian-like.
One party game played was "Imagine-Iff," which asked the players to classify the selected person according to bizarre categories. I mention this, because the first time I was selected I got the perfect question. I'm curious to see what other people would guess:
-----------
If Kevin were an emotion, what would he be?
1) Hate
2) Loathing
3) Jealousy
4) Rage
5) Love
6) Lust
----------
No, "sarcasm" and "apathy" are not valid choices.
Now I'm back in WV, trying to finish up this project while my E&M qualifier bears down on me like a missile from Hell.
I don't think I really like it here.
