haha yay today is an exciting day! today is a fun day, today is a happy day.

first

third driving lesson. i WENT ON THE ROAD excitingexciting. haha. i think it's not bad k, for a MANUAL learner, who has like TWO WEEKS between lessons, to get on the road on her THIRD lesson. muaha.

this instructor spoke chinese. wasnt too bad haha. well, singaporean chinese, which means chinese mixed with lots of english words haha.
my second instructor spent the whole lesson teaching me the proper hand-over-hand technique, he was really really anal particular abt it. now, forgotten all again, turning any oh how again haha. did some left turns on the circuit (last lesson was only right turns) and then went out on the rd!
on one hand, its alot better than on the circuit, less cars, more space, can go faster, dont have to keep stopping (because ya know, moving off from first gear with the STUPID half clutch rubbish is like the hardest thing ever.) on the other hand, its a little scary, because there are obstacles! stupid lorries parked on the side of the road such that you have to signal and pass them! and there are all these other cars, and they're all moving so fast! and there are people walking around!
and filter lanes are evil.

haha. i stalled the car so many times argh. i must go practice half clutch on our car before my next lesson.
and i went up to 60km/h today! exciting!
he kept telling me to go faster, coz he'd be like, check the speed limit. it's 70 here. dont go to slow.
when im like im going at 40! so fast! why must i go faster!
which is realy amusing because if my mum was driving at 40 i'd be thinking why are we going at a snails pace. hahaha.
halfway it started RAINING. gosh. he turned on the wipers for me, which were distracting at first. and the road was so blurry i couldnt tell whether i was in my lane or not!

and ohoh. i dont know if the route we went was a fixed route or not (kai?) but he asked me where i lived, and jokingly said that he would bring me home haha. we DID drive past queenstown mrt tho, which is one stop away from commonwealth. and we went to clementi (past the big longgou thing) and then onto bukit timah rd yay my favourite rd haha.
and then turned into chuachukang there (the turning where kai and i wld part ways back in ny, when i'd continue straight to woodlands) and we ended up back at the sch. felt like such a long time, but wasnt really.

alot of new things today. turning left was new. sharp turns was new. signalling. changing lane. changing gears up to fourth gear. slowing down at junctions (engine brake! third arrow, second arrow) and stopping at red lights, slowing down before the filter lane, changing down gears.

eh i changed gears wrongly once or twice. pushed down to fourth gear when i intended to go to second. muaha!
he SORT OF tried to get me started looking at the mirrors, but im REALLY BAD at that currently. i'd glance at the mirror, and not understand what im seeing. like, i see a car. is it in the left lane? is it in the right lane??? urm! and when changing lanes, he'd ask me to check, and i'd glance at the side mirror and not know if there are cars or not!
and oh yes. everytime i change gears my steering swerves a little. :P oops!

i finally booked my practical test! 27 sept, i booked it in the "recess week", according to the freshmen guide thingum. hopefully the "recess week" is truly a recess week and not an insane activity filled excuse for a holiday haha.

i was asking the instructor when's a gd timing. he said: DONT book 1st slot and last slot. DONT book weekends. DONT book fri afternoon. DONT book lunarcalendar 15th, coz there's a temple next door, and there'll be LOTS of pple. best is mon-thurs midmorning slots. yep.

met jane. an insane number of ppl go to that driving sch.

oh yes. after updating my pdl, i think i was tired or something. when walking out, i didnt see this small step, and i fell. and my RIGHT KNEE took all the impact. OUCH.
aside from the fact that it HURT LIKE HELL, im mentioning this because WTF ARE WRONG WITH THESE SINGAPOREANS?

i mean, i was freaking surrounded by poeple, and it wasnt a trip-fall-down-get-up kinda thing, it was a lying-there-on-the-fall-coz-it-hurt-too-much-to-move kinda thing and NOT ONE PERSON said, "are you okay?" or offered me help getting up.
wth! isnt it natural instinct to go "omgosh, are you okay!" if you see someone take a bad fall! gosh.

anyway, when i fall down, my firts instinct, before the pain even registers is to get up. so i "got up" but still at 'ground level' coz i COULDNT stand. then i stood on the spot for awhile, because i COULDNT WALK. then i limped over to a nearby pillar, and leaned against it for a while. then finally, i sat down in the corner to let my knee recover. and only then did ONE instructor walking by ask, "are you okay?" and i dont even know if he saw me fall.
---

and then

i went out shopping with xiang today! we made our way from taka all the way to ps, from 3 to 9!! and i bought stuff! i bought five things! omg!

eh, yes, me shopping and finding things i like and am willing to buy is a NEAR MIRACLE. hence the excitment.

well, our objective was shorts so OF COURSE we didnt buy ANY shorts. GOSH.
the first three things i bought cost 5.90, 7.90 and 7.90. i dont care if you think the cheap price prob means they suck or sth I LIKE THEM and thats all that matters. and then we met xiang's mum. who had the credit card that offered another 20% off my already super cheap items. so we used the credit card. and then xiang's mum refused to take me money!! so paiseh!
it was quite funny actually.
coz i passed the money to xiang. who tried to pass it to her mum. who went, bu yao! and so xiang turned back to me. but i ran away saying dont want!! and then xiang turned back to her mum and... you get the picture.
haha.
gosh gosh. then at esprite, we saw nice shirts (and other tops w/e everything that is not pants=shirt) all going for $19.90, or 2 for $39.90 ahhhh. i dunno. my cap for shirts (see above definition) is $20, meaning anything above that wont buy UNLESS its really really very very, or a more formal thing that naturally costs more. under $20 is worth looking at, and below ten (or near it) is OHWOWCHEAP. i havent come up with a price cap for pants yet so. anw, deciding between 4 pieces, chose two. so effectively i only spent $40. for five items.

normal people who shop regularly, or shopaholics who go on shopping sprees will obviously not understand why im making such a big deal out of $40 haha.

YAY. continued shopping trip (revisting the places we decided to KIV today, and places we've not yet visited) on MONDAY. (avoid weekend crowd! crowds are EVIL!) i must decide how much im willing to spend before hand. to avoid the GUILTY feelings of buying SO MANY THINGS in ONE DAY AHHHHHHHHHH.
---

oh no, sch hols end this week! current immediate plans: concert sunday night, shopping monday, and badminton+swimming(YAY) tues.
dilemma: SHOULD I GO TO SCH IF THEY CALL ME? D:
so disruptive. again, i HATE the last minute nature of this job. what abt when i've driving lessons? how do i plan my schedual like that?

but jan-may i only worked abt 60% of all working days. and july is the LAST TIME i'll get a chance to earn more money...
