So right now I am sort of on the cusp of a lot of things happening.
I have expressed interest in studying at an English university to the study abroad department, they are keeping me informed about exchange spots opening.
Tuesday I will turn in my application for Alternative Spring Break, I really want to get either the everglades ecology trip or the homeless shelter in DC, but I like the idea of helping people where ever I can.
Undergraduate research also seems like a good thing to hope onto. Addmitting that i dont want a normal job makes marine biology my major of choice and Aquarium biologist or professor my careers i thought so i should start seeing what academics in the field actualy do.
There is also an Internship at the Mote Marien Lab i just learned about, man that would be an awesome way to spend a summer!
After this week I will be done with tests for anther few weeks. Physics went better than expected, but no exact grade is known yet. Organinc is Monday, i need to be more worried about it than I am, but maybe a nice D will shock me back into studying. Genetics...yeah, i guess i should read the chapters before the test thursday morning.
I really am sick of american polotics. Is it the governments place to dictate morality? If this is suppose to be a country established on religious freedom, then it should expect people to want to live their private lives differntly. Key political issues should be the economy, interest rates, international trade, not abortion and gay rights. Why should the government care as long as they contribute to a stable society? I think the initial division of church and state was to allow for this, knowing morality would cause endless distracting battles.
Another distrubing comment i heard was people ellecting a president because he seemed like someone "you could have over for a barbeque". Presidents deal with some of the most intense and complicated issues imaginable. there is a reason we are a republic and not a direct democracy! Major issues are over the heads of most people you have over for lunch. I personaly want a national leader to be a notably smarter person than I am.
That aside...
Happy Six Months to Jason and Me!
He really is wonderful enough to give living together another go. Sure we don't know when it'll happen but I enjoy the conversations and foolish plans too much to let go.
I can't wait to be on the same continent as him again!
