Another week another transmission

Hm... cant think of anything special that went down durring the week. I aranged to go to Kakadu with some people over a three day weekend coming up and found out one of my mob's members lives near another fantastic costal parkk so we're working on that as well.

I extended my run by a Km or so, i feel like i'm getting in better shape here so hurrah!

I had an ecology project to do. Lots of charts with statistic and dull junk like that... then i figured out excel and the power was mine! drop and equation there, slide the cross down and bam- 15 minutes work completed with a flick of the wrist. My graphs were perfect and my qualifiers wise. It counts for 20% of my grade so lets hope I did it right eh?

On friday I had my music class! in percusion everyone switched and now i'm on the tamborine...so much easier than snare drum! I can do the right thing solo even! the singing part is still tricky. I have a realy broken range and no training so i'm still alternating between soprano and alto while wanting to take a yet lower range for some bits...haha! We sang the Australian National Antheme last week, and in So-Fah at that!... I wasnt the only one confused but I was the only one bewildered. I barely know the US one.

Ah, so after that i did some research until the library closed (six i think) then there was a bit of homework.. then i realized i was studying ecology on a friday night and started wondering the dorms looking for people.

I wound up going to a house party with the Irish girls. I thought they'd be the only ones there I knew but nope, a couple other international kids and a guy from my history class. So i chatted with strangers who all thought I was twenty-something (22 was the standard guess) and discussed international education systems and played with ballons and poppers until people were either drunk or leaving. Ah, twas a good night.

Saturday was also great. I rode the bike Muhammed got me to the store and picked up some food. In cludeing a bag of cookies that was almost emptied upon my return, yum bindgeing! I tried to study for a while and I got things organized for some assingments but... angain with the wondering! I found Lauren (red-headed american) and Jonah (Kiwi extrodinair) and we chatted for a while about anything that came up, then we saw the shy music student named Hidi, i discovered she was off to see the Darwin youth Symphony play. Oh yeah! They were good, lack of unison and tone quality in some bits but the oldest person was probably 16 so i was pleasntly surprised by their skill. It made me miss showing up to Dan and Amanda's performances though. I always tried to see people i knew or just go with them. I know it didnt often work out but I really do love live music ^_^. so after that i pretended to do work in earnest but i was too bouncy and went out for a run instead. It was brillant, one of those 'it think i'm going to throw-up if my legs dont fall off as the feel they will' sort of goes and it was exactly what i needed. On setting out I had bumped into some guys who invited me along with them to a pub that evening. I saw them again on the return, they were shocked at how long i had been out but the plans were stil on and pretty soon we were set to go!

The night started out quite, vince and me drawing on coasters then a rather somber conversation with Patrick... then we hit the dance floor. Oh yeah---I am the Dancing Queen! Pat's cousin had been spreading the roumour that i'm a good dancer. Aparently bouncing around in cheerful abandon is a fine substitute for talent. I tought people some cheesy moves and after the night was over. The singer from the band told me i was the best dancer out there. Of course... i was the only one not drinking but that just proves that i have naturaly less inhibitions than normal people =^P.

so today i do intend to do work... and perhaps see V for Vendetta, but my new ecology project will be done and my histroy presentation for tomorrow will be reviewed!

I'm going to have to find dancing parterns back in the states. It's just too much fun to leave behind!
