Sunny Days, Chasing the Clouds Away...

It has been a gorgeous weekend! I woke up two mornings in a row to bright yellow sunshine streaming through my blinds. And today! I was invited snowshoeing with a new friend, and we hiked to the top of Mt. Spokane, pretty much straight up. The sky was blue as blue, the sun as bright as bright, and the snow as white as crystals... We could see EVERYWHERE! To the ends of the hemisphere and beyond! Could not have picked a better day for that trek. Of course there were the random icy-crusted trees that were showering ice pellets glittering down hard on us. But the company was quite entertaining and the breeze good for the challenging jaunt. The Vista House was open with the smells of hot cider and warm heaters inside--I thought it was always locked and forgotten. We travelled through a snowy sparkling Who-land, far from trails that were already in place, and didn't get lost at all--well, maybe lost, but never had to backtrack. And the butt-sledding down the snowmobile tracks was quite entertaining. It's been a while since I've had such a nice day.
