Trials and tribulations of a weekend vidder

I have joined "Team Angst."

I am working on a Sentinel vid. Sometimes I think it's coming out great, and sometimes I think "What am I DOING. With my LIFE." The problem with vidding is that the decisions you make on a second-by-second basis that seem to make sense to you at the time often end up not working when you play the whole thing back.

Also, it can never come close to how gay the show is. (Well, for one thing, I only have footage from season 1.) The thing I've discovered about Sentinel is that it's not the individual shots that make it so gay, but the way it's cut together (a shot of Blair looking intense and Jim looking intense, individually, are not that gay, and in a vid, are not impressive, since they could have come from anywhere; it's only in the context of the original show that you know they are looking intensely *at each other*) and, of course, the dialogue ("You think this courtship ritual is going to change my mind about throwing your butt out of here?" "I'm all yours, little buddy!" "But how can this be chemical when the feelings I'm feeling are real?")

Also, nearly every shot is of someone talking. Yammer, yammer, yammer. So much exposition, so little time!

ETA I will NEVER BE ABLE TO EXPORT THIS TO AVI.

EVER.

ts, vidding
