Drabble night!

Jan 16, 2004 23:25

Okay, so tonight was drabble night. Here's mine. Two have been requested to be expanded into ficlets (500 words or longer) but I'm posting them here cause haven't decided exactly which to expand yet. So, Monday you'll find out which I expanded. :-D

Draco/Anybody; Situation - A Celebration; Words (optional): Cigar, spout, rocks
Words: 100

With a huff of boredom, Draco kicked the rocks from his path. He decided that he would gladly donate all his finery to charity (he'd heard the Weasleys were taking donations) to get out of there. Even if he did miss the complimentary cigar that hosts usually handed out at these things.

Another round of fireworks exploded overhead as a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around him. He turned towards the person, poised to retort when lips covered his own. When they pulled away his lover winked. "I had to quiet you before you decided to spout off again."

Ginny/Anyone; no theme; any form (-ed, -s, etc)of the words: spill, arrange, arch
Words: 100

Ginny doesn't speak with anyone about these times, when family solidarity means more than it rightfully should. And she never discusses it with her brother, their agreement being upon silence, no speaking ever. And never about this. The subject is taboo anywhere but in his room.

But when they come together there's something beyond beautiful in the way he worships her, his kisses raining down on her flesh, in how her back arches up to meet his touch, how her constant and anything but understandable murmuring spills from her lips.

In how he rearranges her atoms with barely any effort.

Hufflepuff/Anybody; Situation: at the pub; Words: gem, pill, time
Words: 115

The raucous chatter was harsh on her ears, but Susan just burrowed further into the both she sat in. It was happy hour at the pub and most seats were taken, save that across from her. Checking the time yet again, she nearly stood to leave when she saw her companion approaching.

His red hair sparkled like a gem in the candlelight as he slipped across from her, winking. "Evening, Bones. Been waiting long?"

She rolled her eyes, he was a pill when in a mood like this. "Watch it, Weasley. You're late."

"I'll make it up to you."

From the look on his face, she knew that he would do more than just that.

Remus/Anyone; Theme: it's raining. Optional words: treasure, blue, coarse
Words: 100

The sky wasn't blue. It was a murky grey that only punctuated the gloom of a rainy day. Not that either of them noticed. Instead all their attention was on each other as they lay together beneath the shelter of the old oak tree, under the cover of a disillusionment charm. Snape ran his fingers through Remus' coarse hair before leaning in to kiss along the underside of his jaw, trailing down Remus' neck to his chest where his shirt lay open. They ignored their surroundings, content instead to indulge in the treasure that was their love for each other.

Slytherin/Anyone; at Hogwarts; trees, sticky, door
Words: 120
triumvirate inspired

Crabbe looked over his poetry, to say it was atrocious was to say the Macmillan had managed to embarrass his girlfriend. He didn't understand how this could happen, it had only been last week that he had written sonnet worthy of his goddess. He glared at a sticky spot where a first year had spilled a spot of jam on it. There was no inspiration to be found here. He looked instead through the open door and out to the trees. They swayed gently in the wind, their dance no match for that of his Gryffindor deity. A sparkle of light caught his eye from across the Great Hall and there his inspiration sparked, the words flowing onto the page.
