Writer's Block: AAAGH!

Oooh, ooh! I recently had not one but two worst nightmares! One involved me during my practicum (teaching practice) which in reality has yet to start. In the nightmare the cooperating teacher (CT) was a Chinese guy who taught Science, which is weird because I'm teaching Malay!

But the nightmare wasn't him, it was when I went to class to teach. The students were ok enough. I think I called one up to do a presentation (in Malay) which I had told him/her to prepare, but he/she was not prepared and I gave him/her another chance, saying firmly that I still want to see his/her presentation on a later date.

And then, weirdly enough, I went on to teach Science! Well not teach, but I wanted to go through the answers for the Science workbook questions, because I recalled the CT going through the answers with me so I figured I had to go through the answers with the students. I told them to take out their workbooks but they claimed not to have them, so I left the classroom to get them from the staffroom. I told the kids to 'entertain themselves' while I was gone and then,  I got lost on the way to the staffroom! Like somehow the school was so damn big and had different blocks with the level of one block connected to a different level of another block (kinda like in one of the Harry Potter movies when the staircases moved so you can never know where you will end up, except in this nightmare the staircases and linkways didn't move but they're just haphazardly connected). So you can imagine my horror, getting lost on the way back to the staffroom and thinking of how the clock was ticking away and the longer I was out of the classroom, the more irresponsible (trainee) teacher I'm made out to be.

And when I finally got to the staffroom, I think I still couldn't find those workbooks so I went back and lo and behold! There's another teacher in MY classroom! Which is of course a bad thing because it means I've been caught leaving my class unattended AND perhaps the students had been making so much noise to warrant another teacher stepping in to quieten them. But then it turned out to be another trainee teacher who was just grabbing the opportunity to step into a teacher-less class to interact with students (which after waking up and thinking about the dream, I remember to be something that was encouraged during a practicum experience sharing session that I attended). So then I was about to announce to the students that sorry, we couldn't go through the Science workbooks, when another teacher (a pretty beaming one in tudung) popped in and told the students, ok let's go to the Science lab it's your Science period now. And I went (??????) in my head, like 'what! I'm not their Science teacher???'. And then I woke up and was super glad it was just a dream. Weird weird weird. ARGH I really hope that it is only in dreams that I experience that kind of anxiety and panic and stupid dig-my-own-grave situations!

The second nightmare involved a group of people who was out to kill me, for God knows what reason, and I was running all over to escape them. And since there were many of them, it's like even if I escape one, I'm not entirely safe and have to keep thinking if there's another who could detect me and I have to be on the run again.
