I'd normally agree, except that it is in the tropics, so I'd imagine that the weather would be warmer. I honestly can't say for certain though. If it is, I get the feeling that it'd be more luck on Gethesemane's part than research.

Ok, so you want to tell me that Jack managed to outswim the riptide of a whirlpool? *Rubs temples* Oi, Gethbitch! A little lesson for you. Aside from being pretty much a costal phenomenon (created by the tides), as far as I know, there has never been a recording of a large ship ever being swallowed by one. However, this is a magical whirlpool that goes to the bottom of the ocean and nearly swallows two ships (as seen in the film) and it was specifically created by the sea goddess (I know, just go with me here) to drown as many people as possible. And you mean to tell me that Jack out swam it? Yeaaaaah, no.
