Bleh, I hate it when Zoey gets a feeling about something. It's so Sueish and contrived. You know what would be nice, Cast ladies? If your protagonist was intelligent enough to figure out the plot her own damn self, instead of having to be guided through it like a blind puppy.
And of course, a high school boy being missing and possibly dead is only of interest because he's cute, and wouldn't that be a waste? Sigh. Putting aside the misandry for a second, this book is also just about the shallowest thing I've ever heard of. I mean, even Twilight, as far as I remember, didn't stop every thirty seconds to discuss every single incidental characters' attractiveness or lack thereof. But these books seem to have an almost religious dedication to being the most shallow thing ever published, and I find it pretty insulting that I'm apparently supposed to buy into it, having been, up until recently, part of the target demographic it's trying so hard to appeal to. People really don't give teenage girls enough credit - while there may be some who are as bad as this book would like to portray them, I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority is not.
When my classmates and I were in this demographic, a good deal of us weren't in this demographic either, including the football players. It was only a select few.
