So....just a repeat of Breaking Dawn's climax, then?

Volturi: We're gonna kill you people!
Bella: No, you're not! Please go away.
Volturi: Um, no?
Edward: ZOMG WHAT DO WE DO
Bella: Relax, they can't hurt us.
Volturi: It's true, we can't hurt you!
Bella: I repeat--please go away.
Volturi: Okay! *leave*

Man. I hope this isn't a trend and becoming a more and more popular climax.

It is. The only difference is that we weren't given five billion chapters dedicated to assuring us that YES, SOMETHING CERTAINLY WILL BE HAPPENING.

I hope so too. :(

This...is the biggest clusterfuck of a climax I have ever seen. What the hell just happened?! Characters materializing out of nowhere, deus ex machina being thrown around like free beer at a frat party, more Mary Sue traits in one chapter than most fanfics have in several, and a potentially lethal situation beginning and magically ending with no repercussions or difficulties in the span of a few pages.

THAT. WAS. AWFUL.

Would you believe me if I told you that the resolution was even worse?

Yep, that's pretty much exactly what happens. Every book. Except one where she really screws up and they get taken away, but don't worry, she gets them all back! Isn't Zoey so wonderful?

Apparently tattoos are the vampire way of measuring power or something. Yes, she keeps getting them. No, so far as I know, there are no drawbacks to this.

Aha, maybe you should keep that detail in mind while reading "The Mortal Instruments." The characters also cover themselves in markings/tattoos (they call them runes) in order to give themselves special abilities. There are, however, consequences for normal people being marked.

So... the "heroes" save the day by standing around. Literally.

HOW STUPID CAN THIS THING GET?!

Oh, wait, I'd better not ask. Sue stories are somehow always capable of reaching a new low.

The whole thing seems like a (bad) fanfic which somehow got published. Now what does that remind me of again?...

"The whole thing seems like a (bad) fanfic which somehow got published. Now what does that remind me of again?..."

You can thank Twilight for that. The Cast ladies were told to do a vampire boarding school book, and apparently "quality writing" was not a part of the criteria.

"Leave," said she, and the problem was dealt with.

"Crap," said the reader, and shut the book.

Easy as 1-2-3.
