With the fake ID thing. I can see both Nora and Fitzpatrick taking this lightly because media teaches you to take fake IDs lightly. I never knew where to get one but as a teen I had a vague idea that every teen should have one and wasn't sure HOW they got it. While I didn't assume every teen but me hit the bar, I did assume it happened. IDs have become less of a mainstay, more mocked now but still, I can kinda get it.

That said, that dismissal works less when Nora makes such a giant deal about it too. So I don't really get it. As a teen I was good for the same reason Nora is "good". I was (and still am) boring. I always preferred being home to being out, but if I met some dangerous guy who wanted to give me a fake ID, I wouldn't think it a big deal. Then again, I would never go to any battle of the bands because I hate crowds and noise and if I wanted to drink, I'd tell my mom and she'd buy me whatever I wanted. (Since I didn't enjoy drinking much, my mom would let me drink whenever I wanted to. That way she could supervise.)

Still, Fitzpatrick seems to always be trying to have her cake and eat it too, and it never works because this is first person narration, so you can't just say "Oh, he's so dangerous." without making the narrator look judgmental rather than it just being accepted as fact.
