Just finished reading everything up through my chapter. I'll get started on my first draft of the sporking soon-ish (Camp Nanowrimo is kinda taking up a good bit of my time). I *should* be able to get it polished by then.

On a side note - I feel so sorry for whoever's doing chapter 2. I raged *so* much while reading that.

Ah yes. If memory serves, wasn't Chapter 2 the one where the werewolves go to Jace and are all "Hey, someone just brutally murdered one of our kids, and you're our world's equivalent of a police officer. Go out there and do your job and figure out who the murderer is," and Jace's response is basically "Why should I bother? The kid's not getting any deader." I wanted to murder the bastards when I read that as well. It backs up the idea that Jace is just a Shadowhunter because it makes him look good, and not because he *cares* about protecting innocent people.

Yes. Yes it was. And Chapter 4 had him mouthing off to the Inquisitor. And I wanted her to slap him so much.

Personally, I think the only reason Jace is a Shadowhunter is because he gets to kill stuff and get praised for it. And that's the only reason he doesn't join up with Papa Val when he comes back.

"And Chapter 4 had him mouthing off to the Inquisitor. And I wanted her to slap him so much."

Ohhhh yeah. Astonishingly, someone put "he was arrested for mouthing off to the Inquisitor" as a reason he counted as a Woobie, on TV Tropes. My response was "...he should be pitied because he got the proper response to MOUTHING OFF TO THE EQUIVALENT OF THE POLICE?"

And I fully agree with that theory. In fact, I think pretty much all the Shadowhunters live by it. For all their talk about how they protect "mundies" and Downworlders and such, they only ever acknowledge them to ridicule them. I know people point out that the treatment of Muggles in the HP world isn't the greatest, but even there, the heroic witches and wizards don't *constantly* scorn them or ignore them. >_<

...Oh. *Oh,* I see.

You know, now I'm really looking forward to the upcoming sporking of that scene and I hope that the sporker includes quotes. Because if he/she does, I am so going to save that quote for the group sporking of the third book because that scene will prove how much a raging hypocrite Jace is and how egregious Clare's double standards are.
