/Also, I hate Vee. I hate her a LOT. That's a scummy way to treat a friend who's being stalked./
That's why I don't feel bad that she was hurt at the end of this chapter. She's too stupid to live, and on top of that, she's a selfish, obnoxious twit.
There's other people spying and stalking Nora. This thing outdoes even Twilight in terms of creepy violations of privacy. And the reasons for everyone being so obsessed with Nora kind of overlap. You'll...see.
Um, no. No, there really isn't. I guess Nora's mother is nice, but she's also pretty much a nonentity. Anyone who is remotely likable quickly turns out to be evil.
I gotta say, the only going for this story is that it's three books (I guess...so far...) instead of the fifty thousand plus that House of Night is.
I don't get the whole stalking thing. All I know is that if the stalker isn't Patch, this whole sub-plot is going to be dropped like a hot potato with scalding cheese. I'm willing to bet money on it.
Three books and I think a graphic novel. >( Thank heaven, I think that's it.
The whole stalking thing is stupid and infuriating and a last-minute plot addition and I absolutely hate it. Don't worry, it shows up later. We'll wish it hadn't. >_<
Dear Lord, do we need another repeat of the "Twilight" catastrophe? Why the heck would anybody agree to make a graphic novel out of this monstrosity?
If they *do* make a graphic novel, my only hope is that it will showcase all of this book's evil messages in all their twisted glory, so that people will *finally* realize why this book is so awful.
The graphic novel would probably be even worse, given how there's twice the creepy and half the plot. >_< Although I don't know if Fitzpatrick would be more receptive to changes for medium than Meyer was.

Vee looked up and nearly dropped her bundle of underwear. Behind her was a large, middle-aged woman with frizzled red hair and she had a hand on the teenager's shoulder
( ... )

I sympathize. I work at a place that sells glasses, and we always have to look out for people trying to walk off with a free pair of Maui Jims or Oakleys. >(
That's really the only time Vee does anything like that. I honestly don't know what the point of it was. It wasn't funny, it doesn't come up later, it was just random.
You know, I don't ever remember going to buy lingerie with my girlfriends in high school. Not that I do that now either.
You keep mentioning the fact that Nora is a straight A student...but I haven't seen her study. Also, didn't you say something about Ivy league schools? So where are her extra-curriculars that don't involve Patch?
Yeah, same. I wasn't sure if that was something that I was just odd with though. ^^;
The only thing that indicates Nora's above-average intelligence is her ability to poke around for information. Even that's pretty lame though. I think that by now, most people just toss around "straight-A" and "Ivy league schools" to sound impressive.
Surprisingly, that's not Patch. Don't worry, he'll show up soon enough. >_
She doesn't seem to poke around for information very often or very effectively... Anyway, why can't these heroines just want to go to the state school and get a normal job, like the majority of us? Oh, wait, I bet the Ivy Leagues was the extent of her ambition.
Oh, I know, I just want him to die in a fire anyway.

Is there any character in this story that's both interesting and likeable? Because I have to say--right now, I loathe everyone.

Would be great if later in the book, somebody catches Vee in the act and throws the book at her. I'm not gonna get my hopes high though.
