Rant du Jour

Abortion was banned in South Dakota earlier this month.

The US government in power is doing its best to ban state funded clinics from providing contraception.

What the hell is happening in that country?

As an unmarried Canadian who has protected/safer consensual hetero sex within a committed relationship on a regular basis, I have a very big problem with this.

For the 12 millionth time:

Dear Dubya and cronies (and others to whom this applies),

It is not up to you to make decisions for every autonomous adult human being in the US, or in the rest of the world.
A population of teenaged parents, chock full of STDs and lacking knowledge are not going to create a vibrant society to be proud of.

Of course, you don't care, because your private doctors can perform all the abortions you can pay for, can provide all the emergency contraception your daughters wish to purchase.

Unwanted pregnancies are a societal inevitability, kind of like annoying right-wing rich people. At least there is a safe way to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

Gee, Dubya, is the real reason you don't like gay people the fact that it is waaaaay harder to trap a lesbian into an unwanted pregnancy, or force a gay man to pay child support for non-existent babies? Hmmmmm? (No, you just like making people's decisions for them. Because you think that "right" for you is right for everyone. But you are wrong. And kind of stupid.)

I will ship condoms and safer sex info south of the border myself if I have to. Become a spreader of guerilla information.

Unless, of course, you actually make the hell you are creating a positive environment for parents. But if Canada can't even figure that one out, I have my doubts about 'Mair-ca.

With all my love,
Zelda P
