[What was it doing here? What was the Dark Mirror doing here? It was broken, gone, long since lost...]
[Shadow realizes he's at the Tower of Winds again. His tunic is splotched with rust-colored blood, and his hair is in disarray. He clutches his stomach with his hand, raggedly breathing through his clenched, pointed teeth.]
[This was wrong.]
You're gone! [he snaps at it, suddenly, fists clenched at his side.] I destroyed you!
[All the mirror does is do what a mirror does best; show a reflection. Shadow stares himself down, his hateful, angry, weak self, soon to be near-death from the traumatizing ordeal of being killed and brought back.]
You're not supposed to be here!
[And suddenly, the mirror shatters. Small, sharp shards explode from both sides, slashing the boy's skin, as he snarls in rage. But the mirror shards do not remain fallen, instead, they begin to pick themselves off the ground. They form together into a twisting, quivering ball, the sunlight reflecting off of the glinting glass.]
What the hell-?
[He extends his arm to summon his sword from the darkness.
The sword doesn't appear.]
Huh?!
[The orb of broken glass rises higher into the air, until finally exploding into a massive, pulsing ball of light, enveloping the entire area with said light.
Shadow screams in pain.]
[What?! No! The light--it wasn't supposed to hurt him anymore! Why now? Why...]
[He collapses to his knees, burying his face in his hands. It almost feels as though he's been dropped into an inferno, burning all over. The light may as well be tearing at his skin.]
[As though it were something of darkness and not light, tendrils erupt from the orb. They snake their way over to the fallen boy, wrapping themselves around his arms, his torso, his neck--
He gags, it's choking him. Choking, and burning. It's going to kill him, isn't it? After several panicked moments of asphyxiation, the light's grip loosens, and he can breathe again. His throat stings--, stings and burns, inside and out. It's too much, too much pain. He can't take it any more.]
STOP IT! [is his roar, his voice raw and hurt.]
[After several more agonizing minutes, each feeling like an hour, finally, the light begins to fade, until dissipating completely, leaving him on his knees; in pain, trembling, and appearing as though he's about to sob--which he might just do.]
