[A small campfire is the source of dim light and meager warmth somewhere in Hyrule field tonight. The sun had fully set a short time ago, and though the night sky was clear, it was difficult to catch a glimpse of the reclusive moon, much less any stars.]
[It was too dark. Sheik, having offered to keep watch tonight, wrapped in a thin blanket while his friend took the bed roll, didn't like this darkness. It was encroaching, suffocating. What if something tried to pull them into the shadows, right at the last second, when the Sheikah dared to doze off and drop his guard?]
[He won't take any chances. Not anymore. And so his newly obtained clawshot stays within arm's reach. One hand holds the balisong knife, quietly flipping it open, then closed, open, then closed...]

The Hylian tosses and turns in his sleep, quietly hissing in pain or tossing and turning as if in a mimicry of dodging incoming foes. It's small and inconspicuous at first, but steadily increases until-]
...!!
[he bolts upright, eyes wide and hand clenching his chest, gasping for air. No, no, no, it was over, it was over!! A soft whimper as he curls up, hands still held over his heart]
[It's uncomfortable, glancing to the side every so often and watching his friend suffer like this. Sheik looks away once it starts getting bad, his stomach twisting in a knot. Would he look like that, too, if he dared to close his eyes? But Link was the one who saw more - killed more...]
[The Sheikah starts when Link wakes up, too tense, heart nearly jumping out of his throat. For a long while he can only stare, mouth agape behind his now off-white collar, balisong knife flipped closed and held too tight.]
...Cyril?
[Say something. Tell me you're fine when everything else isn't.]
(ooc: Post
boss battle. D: Drop by if you need a campfire for the night?)
