[Sheik is back in the village again, lost in thoughts. Almost without thinking, he's made his way back up to the well - he pauses there, remembering the last time he was there.]

[He shakes his head briskly, and turns to leave. That's when he catches sight of the little... thing sitting on the well. Crossing the distance, he picks it up and frowns at it.]

[Mostly to himself-] What's this, then?

[Ooooh, a man looking at the well. It blinks, trying to remember the man well enough to describe it to Master later, but then it's being picked up.

[The man doesn't look happy. Is something wrong?]

I is Aifor.

[And then it talks.]

Wha-?!

[It's a good thing Sheik has fast reflexes, because he nearly dropped the thing in the well.]

Aifor? [His sense of curiosity has risen to the front, now. Very carefully, he sets the... thing back down on the well, kneeling to look at it closely.] What exactly are you, then? Or who?

Aaaaaaah! [And the wings are flapping wildly -- until it gets caught, anyway.]

[Aifor shifts back and forth on the stone until it gets comfortable again.] I is Master's servant. I watch town for him.

[Sheik raises an eyebrow, instantly wary. In his experience, creatures with masters tended to not be the type he associated with.]

And who would your master be?

[Aifor's wings droop a little at that look. He didn't do anything wrong...]

Master is... Master. Master is sorcerer. [It seems to perk up a little at that.] Master is nice.

[The little... thing's... wings droop a bit, and Sheik feels a slight pang of guilt.]

[And then immediately feels foolish, because it's a talking plush bat. A talking plush bat that's now talking about...]

A sorcerer? [Sheik frowns.] What sort of sorcerer?

[Aifor blinks (winks?) a couple of times, confused.]

Master good sorcerer. Master like wind. [It looks around, remembering something Master told it.] Master live in wind house.

[And he glances up at the windmill. He supposes that could be called a wind house - and didn't he hear someone mention the sorcerer in the windmill?]

Up there? [He points up to the windmill, blades creaking in the breeze.]

Yeah, yeah! Wind sorcerer!

[Aifor jumps into the air at that, fluttering happily in place for a moment before letting itself drop back to the stone.]

Master stay there.

[This time, Sheik can't quite hold back a smile as the thing - Aifor - flutters in to the air for a bit. It is... well... very cute. And he hasn't really heard anything that would suggest the sorcerer is malicious...]

Is your master up there now? [It looks quiet, but that's no real indication.]

[Aifor looks up at the windmill, seemingly lost in thought.]

Umm... maybe? He say he come after me, but I not know how long I be here.

[A scout, huh?]

[Sheik gives Aifor a quick smile and an extremely awkward pat.]

Well, if your master is around, let me know?

[He looks around subtly. He feels exposed out here - escape would be nice.]

[Aifor rocks slightly to one side.]

Master say he get me when he get here, so I no think he here yet. I tell him I see you~!

[Sheik gives him - it - a proper smile. Even if there's still some underlying wariness there, he still thinks it's very, very cute.]
