[Ilia is frightened, and though she is trying not to completely panic, it is a little difficult for her not to. The young woman had come awake in a small abandoned shop in Castle Town without the Zora child anywhere near her, or Telma, or any of the handful of people she could recognize with her memory the way it was. She is alone.]

Something devastating had barreled through the tiny market, leaving a very real trail of darkness in its wake. Even in his Hylian form, Link could practically sense the imbalance of this place. The distinctly uneasy feeling the town gave off made him wary and kept his hand by his blade every step of the way through the ghost town.
When the silence of the night was suddenly broken, it took him a moment to register the sound for what it was. But then, everything suddenly clicked neatly into place. The voice was one from thoughts and waking reveries of home...... but it wasn't... it couldn't be...
Link quickly turned his gaze towards Ilia, nearly dropping his sword in surprise as door frame, building, and lastly, girl filled his vision.]
I..Ilia!
[He didn't hesitate to sheath his sword, and quickly move to greet her ( ... )

[He pauses, as if shocked, but the sun is coming up in the other direction, and his face is shadowed. Then he says her name, and sheathes his sword, and comes close enough that she can make out his face. A young man with blue eyes, smiling at her guilelessly. She feels less afraid.]
How... do you know my name?

You don't remember..?
[Although he'd been through Ilia's amnesia once before, the second time was eerily similar, and...just as disheartening.]

I've... seen you before. You were at Telma's bar...! You were going to escort Telma and me to Kakariko... even though you had nothing to gain from it. I don't even know your name, and you were still willing to help like that.
[But then her face collapses in confusion.]
What happened to me? Where is Telma and the Ruto child? Did I somehow get lost in the night?
Reply
Dear me! Aren't you the young lady to whom Telma was extending care and shelter?
[He peers intently at her through his glasses.]
By the Three, surely you are! How are you, madam?

I am... I think I'm lost. Do you know where Telma's is from here?
[Remembering her manners belatedly, Ilia bows her head a little.] I am sorry! I don't think we've actually met before, though I have seen you before. You were discussing things with that... group of people, weren't you? You were the one always reading, am I remembering right? [She hesitates, and then extends a hand.] I'm Ilia.

As to Telma's...
[He sighs.]
I might not be the right one to tell you this; I'm newly arrived myself. But you have to know...
Telma's does not yet exist, my dear. It won't for some time. We, and a few others like ourselves, have been transported to this Hyrule in the distant past. No one knows how, or why. It's very mysterious.

You mean... we've been somehow kidnapped? [Only because their surroundings are so quiet and dark and strange does she accept this as plausible. In more company, she would have laughed -- transported into the distant past, indeed.] Who did it? And how do we go back?
