[He stares up in shock at Hyrule Castle from the drawbridge outside of Castle Town. Link does not notice right away that the season has changed from autumn to spring, or that the topography of the mountains have shifted, or that Midna has left him. For this moment, his thoughts are with Princess Zelda and the captives of Castle Town.Wait! Has the

Curse of Twilight? I'm not sure what you mean. I don't think there's ever been a curse here.

But... the last I knew, the castle and Castle Town were completely covered in Twilight. It might be different now, but... how could you not have seen that huge black cloud? Have you been here at all in the last month?
(ooc: Hey! Thanks!!)

What kind of Twilight can cover places?
[ooc: You're welcome. :3]

It is like a blanket of darkness. When it covers places where people live, they turn into spirits and only feel fear. The King of Twilight took over the castle and Princess Zelda is his prisoner.
Or she was...

That's pretty creepy. How do you fight something like that?
[He stops and turns to look up at the castle.] I haven't seen Zelda in a while... Maybe we should go check on her.

[He turns to look at the castle, too, and then looks at the other man again, taking note of his sword.
It's strange, but no one else he spoke to recently talked about fighting the darkness like this stranger did. They were all just frightened and hoping to survive it.]
You know Princess Zelda? Enough to call her by her first name?
Reply
[What's a Light Spirit? Are they like fairies? They must be good if they can somehow stop this Twilight.]
Well, um... [He chuckles nervously.] I knew her once. It's been a long time since I talked to her.

[Link looks the stranger up and down again, wondering if he's making fun of him.]
And... you were childhood friends with the princess? Really.
[Okay, now he seriously thinks he's being made fun of. :| Cue face in icon.]

I wouldn't say friends, I don't think. I helped her save Hyrule several years ago.
[He pulls out the Ocarina of Time and holds it up.] She gave this to me when I left Hyrule. She said it would always keep me safe. She was right, too.

[Was this man really a great hero from another land? That would explain the gear, the sword and the air of self-assurance.]
You've saved Hyrule before? [He looks at the Ocarina, not recognizing it.] What is it? Why did she give it to you?

I didn't do it alone, but yeah, I did. This is the Ocarina of Time. I used it in my quest. If you know what song to play, you can control time with it. Or, well, I could in Termina, at least. I'm not sure it works here anymore. I'm not sure why she gave it to me, really. I guess she wants me to keep it safe.

So it's a magic instrument? What does a magical song like that... sound like?
Reply
[He laughs. That's definitely not the reaction he expected, but he doesn't mind. It's nice to not have someone think he's crazy.]
Here, I'll play it for you.
[It's a little weird playing the Song of Time just because, but that's okay. He wants to know if it will work here like it did in Termina.]

That's amazing... I think you really are telling me the truth. Who are you?

My name's Link. What's yours?

How weird! My name's Link too! I wonder if we're related somehow... I mean, we have the same hair and eye color. We could be cousins or something.
