[Here again, home again.
But this isn't home, is it? Not anymore, certainly - home is behind, beyond. The graveyard he was approaching was not supposed to be Kakariko's, the gateway to that network of sacred, wretched catacombs. And yet, here it is unfurling before him: and isn't it funny how he's always drawn back here?
Not particularly, no.
He turns on heel as soon as it clicks, as soon as it really sinks in and hits him - this is not World's End. This is not where you belong - as if he expects to see the gate leading back into the ruined city, as much a necropolis as the one sprawling underneath him. He turns, quick and sure and a little over-urgent, as if he expects to still have a chance, an opening, a way to run back, and retreat the way he never would from a fight.
Of course, there is none. Only Hyrule, only that lonely little alley winding back to the village, only the golden flowers peeking up through the grass. Sheik is less surprised than he probably should be - in fact, after the initial shock, after the initial lapse in composure...
He eases, looking perfectly calm, and gives a little sigh instead of swearing like he desperately wants to (Gambit taught him some choice words that would be entirely applicable, after all). Instead of kicking the nearest gravestone and yelling incoherently. Yes, he eases, he calms, and is controlled. The Sheikah even manages not to laugh at the sheer ludicrous irony of the situation. A laugh would only betray the undercurrent of nervousness, after all.
But here he is, in home that is no longer home - for now, he simply begins making his way back to the village proper.]
