A new, yet familiar face

[Well this is new for Link. I mean, it looks vaguely like the Hyrule fields, but something is different about them. The castle even looks different, and he doesn't remember any mountain that looked like that. Something is wrong, he doesn't even remember coming near Hyrule field, but he was there now

[A warrior... one of the handful he's seen since he's arrived a few weeks ago. Steadily, the redheaded young man examines the others strangely straight Hylian sword and choice of garments without recognition. He wonders how strong the warrior would be in battle or whether, like many things in Hyrule, his accouterments are for show and not use. He considers attacking him without warning to find out. Instead he says, loudly:]

Those are strange clothes. Who are you, kid?

[The salutation is a bit strange since they're the same age, or Link is a little older.]

(ooc: Welcome! Nice to meet you~)

[It does seem pretty strange, but Link doesn't mind that much. This kid looks sorta... familiar, though. He pulls out a piece of paper, his quill, and ink from a random pouch.]

I'm Link, and you?

[ooc; Thanks! It's nice to meet you, too!]

[Luckily, he can read Hylian. Though, the shape of the letters seem different than what he is used to. He squints at Link for a minute, then says,]

I am Ganondorf, leader of the Gerudo. Was your tongue cut out?

[Asked with a little bit of morbid fascination.]

[mute_hero]

[Ganondorf? That's the guy who--... no, it can't be him. He's too young. Scribble scribble scribble.]

Ah, no. I have never been able to talk.

[young_ganondorf]

Heh. I see.

[He looks over Link's clothing again.]

How old are you? Where are you from and who do you fight for?

[mute_hero]

I'm seventeen, I'm from Hyrule and I fight for Princess Zelda.

[He'll also fight for Midna, but that's a different story.]

[young_ganondorf]

[Well, there's a Zelda in every generation... he just assumes Link means the young Princess Zelda of his own era.]

What rank do you hold in her army? I have never seen your uniform before, even during my stays at Hyrule Castle.

[mute_hero]

[Army? Well, Zelda is a princess, she should have an army.]

I do not have a rank, and it is not really a "uniform". It is just my normal clothes.

[What's a good way to put it? Is he like a mercenary?]

[young_ganondorf]

Your normal clothes...

[He considers this a moment.]

So you are a farmer-soldier, then. You normally don't fight, but you take up arms when the princess has need? Was that sword a plow until just recently?

[He seems amused that Link is a hick instead of a great general, as he'd half-thought.]

[mute_hero]

[That actually sounds about right, he was just a normal ranch-hand. Or would he be considered a Hero now?]

I suppose that's a good way to put it.

[young_ganondorf]

Though, it begs the question, farmer... what are you fighting against, if not even her army can overcome it?

[He would have noticed some kind of disturbance in the land, wouldn't he?]

[mute_hero]

[What could he call them? He scribbles down more.]

Creatures of Twilight, and a man named Ganon.

[He decided it's probably best not to add the "dorf" part onto the name, it could cause confusion.]

Ganon?

[A beat. Paradox does not let Ganondorf consider the possibility that they are talking about a future version of himself, so he only frowns in irritation that the name is so similar to the one the Gerudo kings use.]

I've heard of none of this, and I've just come from the castle. You're the first Hylian I've seen in weeks. Everyone's disappeared.
