Spring is the best time of year to see the desert. In the spring there are short, fierce thunderstorms that prompt what dwarfish plants there are to flower in the full spectrum of colors. It is only at this time of year that there are colors in the desert other than brown... and more brown.
All of this is nearly lost on Ganondorf, who is glaring in anger and suspicion at a particularly beautiful blue flower growing on a cactus near his right hand. It isn't the flower's fault that Ganondorf had been teleported randomly and against his will to the desert near the Gerudo Fortress. It's his mun's. >.>
He has been avoiding the desert for many years, ever since he conquered Hyrule the first time. Trading the unrelentingly ugly desert for the rolling green fields of Hyrule was a decision he made a very long time ago, one that he never looked back on with regret. It had not been the Gerudo Desert he had gnashed his teeth about when the sea covered the land, it had been Hyrule.
But, even so, he does not leave immediately. It's hotter than he remembered, the low clouds making the landscape strangely dark and humid. There is no wind, but he knows a strong one should pick up soon, driving the lifegiving clouds away. The scent of the desert is waking up memories.
He doesn't see the plants thriving in the heat, even though he remembers (almost against his will) which ones can be used to keep a man dying of thirst alive. He only sees that the plants are much uglier and far-between than those in the forests of Hyrule. The taste of the desert for him is death, hardship and being short-changed by the gods.
[ooc: orz orz I'm so incredibly sorry I've been absent and fail, there were some RL things causing me lots of stress. But I'm back and inspired again, so horray! *finally makes him go to the desert*]
