[She always liked the rain. There was something about the calming sound of the falling raindrops, about the soothing cold that always accompanied it, that led to her always leaving the inn during rainfall. It was always a nice way to think of something else; to stop focusing on her job for a moment and to instead explore the area a little. Somehow

[Din is sitting in the field, actually not moving for a change, and winding stray daisies into a crown. The spirits of spring have well and truly awoken, and it makes her happy. Of course, before too much longer, it will be time to summon the spirits of summer.]
[She looks up when her friends, the earth spirits, whisper that someone is approaching. What a pretty woman...but she looks lost. Din watches curiously for a moment, then waves.]
Hello there!

[Anju waves in response - while she doesn't recognize the woman, she seems like a friendly person, not someone she ought to be wary of. And who knows, she may know a little more about the area.]
Oh, hello, miss! [She bows a little. She may not be at the Stock Pot Inn, but it simply seems more courteous of her to do this.] You wouldn't happen to know if this place is still a part of Termina Field, would you? It doesn't look like any part of it I've been in before...
[While she may be lost, she doesn't seem to mind too much...]

Hello there. [Din's not much on formality, but it's not the first time someone has bowed to the demigoddess, so it doesn't even faze her. The word 'Termina' catches her attention, however.]
Termina Field? No indeed, you're in a place called Hyrule now. This is a bit of a strange world we're in, I'm afraid; it seems to like to kidnap people from other places and times, and bring them here. I'm one of them myself -- I come from the country of Holodrum. What's your name? I'm Din.

Oh, I'm sorry, I should've introduced myself first... My name is Anju. I'm pleased to meet you, Miss Din. [She pauses for a moment, thinking a little about what she was just told.]
Hyrule? I don't think I've ever heard of this place before, or of a place called Holodrum. This is quite a strange place if people from completely different areas suddenly appear here... [How would that even be possible? A world that pulls people from other worlds? She's gonna be wondering about that for a while, but in the meantime...]
Say, Miss Din, this Holodrum you're from... What is it like? I'd like to know a little more about it, if you don't mind telling me. [Finding an answer to the other questions will be more difficult, so maybe it's better to find out more about where other people are from. Hope you don't mind some questions, Din!]

Let me see. Well, in terms of appearance, it's not very different from what you see here. There's a lot of forest, and the villages are spaced out so that there's quite a bit of traveling involved to get from one to another. When I'm at home, I live with a troupe of performers -- singers, magicians, that sort of thing. I'm the dancing girl of the company.

So you're a performer? That sounds like a rather fun job. Holodrum sounds like an interesting land, too... I'd love to see it myself someday. I wonder if that's possible somehow...? [Getting back to Termina takes priority, though. After all, she wouldn't want to worry her friends and family...]

[Din's smile is warm.]
I'm sure it's possible in some way. Holodrum in my time is a neighbor and ally to Hyrule. It seems to me that if you can get here, you can get there too.
[She pauses, briefly.]
So you mentioned Termina Field...are you from Termina, then? I know someone else from Termina.

Anju's thought train is quickly interrupted by Din's question, however. She's met someone else from Termina? Who could that be...? Someone she knows, perhaps?]
I'm from Termina, yes. I work at the Stock Pot Inn in Clock Town, together with my mother.
If you don't mind me asking, who is the other person you know? It might be someone I've met before...

...Kafei's here?! But... wasn't he supposed to be spending the day with some of his friends...? [Another slightly longer pause. If Din met him shortly after arriving in Hyrule, and she's been here longer than Anju herself, but she still saw Kafei earlier today... We might just have a contradiction here! From her point of view, anyways.]
Ah, I'm sorry about that outburst just now... I do know him. Quite well, even. You said you met him here...? How long ago was that? [Having an answer to that might help her solve that contradiction... hmm.]
[ooc: ...mun just realized she needs a shocked icon somewhere between simple curiosity about what's been said and her outright going "ohmygodwhat'sgoingon"... oi. Looks like I gotta make a couple more soon. :| ]

I understand your confusion, Anju. I'll try to make this as simple for you as I can -- I've had a few weeks to get used to it, but it's very perplexing. I met Kafei the day I arrived here, which was several weeks ago. The best way I can think to understand any of it is to say that time works differently here. You may have seen Kafei today back home, but at the same time he's been here for even longer than I have. And you'll find that there are more than one of the same person.
[Her expression is gentle.]
All I can really tell you is that this Hyrule isn't entirely normal...I think it's some kind of strange magic at work. So how do you know Kafei? He's quite the charmer.

[She smiles in response to the comment.]
He is, isn't he? Back at home in Termina, Kafei is the son of the mayor, so he's quite well known. And... well... [She mumbles something quietly enough for it to be inaudible, blushing faintly as she does so.]
[ooc: So sorry for the delay! Kinda had some stuff to do over the weekend... Sorry D: ]

The Mayor's son, eh? My goodness.
[Din can't help but think that explains why Kafei occasionally seems to have a sense of entitlement.]
I'm sorry, I didn't catch that last bit.
[She catches the blush, however, and a funny little sick feeling is starting to form in her stomach.]
Reply
Oh, so he hadn't mentioned that to you? That's odd... I thought he would've mentioned it sooner or later...
[Her thought train is cut short by Din's comment.]
Ah, I'm sorry. I was saying that, well... [She blushes a little again, pausing yet again]
...Um, well... he's my husband. He's been for about a month now... It's still kind of hard to believe... [Her voice gets quieter as she speaks, and by the time she finishes the last sentence she's barely audible anymore. Married for a month or not, bringing that up still felt a little awkward to her, what with Kafei being the son of the mayor and her being more of a humble peasant compared to him.]

[For a second, Din really, really hopes that she's hearing things. But she knows she's not -- the sick feeling of dread which has developed in the pit of her stomach tells her she's not. Another woman's husband has been flirting with her, more or less pursuing her. The demigoddess is not amused.]
I see. I'm sorry, I...I don't know Kafei very well and apparently even less than I thought so there's much about his personal life I didn't realize.
[Her powers won't let her harm him, but he's certainly going to get an earful when next they meet. However, Kafei's duplicity is no reason to be rude to his...wife.]
Well, congratulations on the marriage! I'm sure he'll be very pleased to see you.

Ah, well, maybe he didn't you to feel like you should look up to him because of his status and that's why he didn't mention that? At least that's the first explanation I can think of...
[She smiles.] Thank you! I think so, too, since if he's been here for so long he probably hasn't seen anyone from Termina for a long time. He must've been lonely here, without any of his friends around... [Maybe she ought to cook a meal for him or something.
...on second thought, bad idea. Anju's cooking is probably some sort of health hazard...]
