[It's perfectly normal for him to sleep without dreaming, but it's more odd for the world around him to not dream. It might be pure odd chance, or perhaps he's just been far enough from most people that he can't sense their dreams. All he knows is that it's been a long time since he sensed any kind of dream.
[He stands on top of one of the stone walls by the gates to the lake, staring out at the field but seeing nothing. The wind, still carrying a bit of spring chills, blows past him, making his hair fly wildly. He barely notices it. Even with all of its fury, the wind feels stagnant. This whole place feels stagnant. He could try and tell himself that it's just a quirk of the season, but he knows better. He knows how few people are really in this land. Even if they were all brilliantly burning souls, they couldn't fill the void the hundreds -- perhaps thousands -- of missing people have left here.
[He raises one hand and points at the horizon, tracing a jagged line in the distance. In his mind, he sees the familiar -- though less so than he would like -- form of the Tal Tal Mountains. The view before him doesn't change. Of course it doesn't. He has no power here, no power save his sword and his pack of tricks and his cunning.
[And none of those are of any help with this strange feeling of emptiness. He would've thought a land with few people would feel more alive, free of "civilization", but it seems he was wrong. Towns are apparently as much of the land as the rocks and trees and grass.
[Maybe if he actually spent time in towns, he would've known that by now.
[One hand reaches back and fumbles in his pack, finally deciding on a handful of Magic Powder. He brings his hand back around and looks down at it. Then he nods and hurls it up and out, scattering the powder to the wind.
[Maybe it isn't that the world isn't dreaming. Maybe it's more that the world needs to open its eyes and look at the waking world.]
Wake up, world. It's time to wake up!
[OoC: I'm incredibly good at making myself scarse, it seems. I apologize in advance for any lag in tagging back; I'm still waiting to find out how busy I'm going to be this weekend.]
