Author's Note: Part two of two. Sorry if it's a bit late. Please read and comment if it isn't too much trouble :D

Seven weeks is too lengthy of a time when your heart is aching. That extended time can steadily become draining. Ryeowook, having lived nearly seven weeks without his most treasured friend, was feeling the full symptoms of heartbreak and abandonment. Sure, his newly discovered friend, Kyuhyun, was an amazing person... But without Sungmin... It wasn't the same.

Ryeowook had often caught himself lying awake at night, alone in his bed, staring blankly at his bedroom ceiling. He was so deep in thought that the time sprinted past him as if it was high on adrenalin. He would lay still for hours on end and think in complete silence, of his lost soul mate. The frogs on his rooftop would croak lazily, echoing the soft thumps of his heart, and the numbing pulse of his brain.

He often reduced himself to tears, knowing that if he had only kept his eager mouth shut he would still be able to run into the open arms of his closest friend. He could have, should have, would have... If only he had thought things through.

Thankfully there was Cho Kyuhyun, his wonderful new friend. Ryeowook could always rely on Kyuhyun to be there for him, and to comfort him when comfort was desired. He wouldn't turn down one of Ryeowook's innocent requests for anything. Hell, if Ryeowook asked him for the world, Kyuhyun would probably have it for him by the end of the day.

Kyuhyun was such a sweetheart; such a trooper. He would follow Ryeowook to the ends of the Earth and back if given the chance. Ryeowook often wondered if pure gold ran through the younger man's veins instead of blood.

In other words, Kyuhyun was a friend that Ryeowook didn't deserve in the least.

"Ryeowook, you have something on your face," The tall dark haired man murmured with a sly smile. The small cafe was rather busy and Kyuhyun wanted to spare his friend the embarrassment of being caught in public with chocolate and crumbs smeared all around his lips. The smaller of the two smiled shyly and set down his fork to rub at said spot, only to have his fingers outraced by a larger hand. He scrunched his eyes and puckered his lips as Kyuhyun wiped dark crumbling traces of chocolate cake from around his mouth and cheeks.

Ryeowook whispered a tentative "Thank you" once the helpful hand pulled away. Kyuhyun sat back and smiled, looking as content as he always did when the two young men were around one another. Ryeowook quickly smiled back, his anxious mood ebbing back into himself, much like the tides. He settled back into his chair and lifted another forkful of cake onto his waiting tongue.

Kyuhyun giggled, watching his friend chew on the dessert like a child. Ryeowook merely frowned and gave his friend the stink eye before shoveling in another overflowing mouthful.

Those days, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun often relaxed in the cafe after a long day of classes, morning jobs, and various other schedules. It was their own way of winding down, as well as it being one of their only chances to see one another during the week. A relaxing end to every day, in the comfortable embrace of a friend's company.

In other words, after merely seven short weeks, the two young men were already nearly inseparable.

The two had become silent; Kyuhyun watching while Ryeowook speedily finished the treat, which was now nothing more than a glob of gooey chocolate frosting dolloped on the end of Ryeowook's fork. Kyuhyun opened his mouth expectantly.

Ryeowook sighed, knowing full well that the frosting was the man's favourite feature of any dessert. He slowly - teasingly - lifted the silver utensil toward's Kyuhyun's waiting lips before smearing it all over the tongue behind. Kyuhyun made a noise of approval as he savoured the chocolaty flavour.

The door to the semi-crowded cafe swung open and a young man with shiny dark hair and round eyes walked into the shop. He looked around with a nostalgic smile, as if he had recently returned after some time abroad, and was reliving an old memory. Kyuhyun watched as he strode up to the counter and greeted the pretty young cashier. Perhaps they were long time friends.

Kyuhyun continued to stare at the young man, struggling to find a name that suited the beaming face. He was sure he recognized the guy from somewhere...

Ryeowook waved a hand in front of Kyuhyun, confused as to why the younger man was staring across the room with furrowed brows and clenched lips. "Kyu..." he muttered with a playful smile, "Stop staring at random people. Don't you know that's rude?" He was overly eager to bring Kyuhyun's attention back to himself.

"Sorry," Kyuhyun replied, his almond shaped eyes falling on his petite friend once more. "I thought I recognized that guy over there, talking to the cashier." He tilted his head in the direction as Ryeowook swiveled in his seat to curiously glance at the mystery man.

He nearly dropped his fork in surprise.

"S-S-Sungmin?!" he cried, lifting himself from the chair.

The young dark haired man at the counter turned with a look of utter unhappy surprise written on his handsomely structured face. Ryeowook paled, once again reliving the memory of seven weeks earlier. His hands began to shake and his throat constricted with newly blossoming worry.

"Ryeowook," Sungmin said. There was no expression in his soft voice.

Suddenly the cafe became completely empty, save for Ryeowook and Sungmin. The silence was deafening in Ryeowook's ears and his eyes swam with regret. His aching heart lurched and gurgled in his thin chest; sputtering it's feeble cry for help. He was so lost, and he hadn't even been reacquainted with his friend. His hand needed something - someone - to hold onto.

In other words, he was thinking of only one person: Cho Kyuhyun.

"Ryeowookie... How are you?" Sungmin said into the silence.

Ryeowook jumped as the world reformed around him, and he was pulled hastily back into reality. the cafe resumed it's calm bustling movement, and gravity forced his mind to drop out of the sky and back down to Earth.

"Ryeowookie?"

"H-Huh? Oh... Hi Sungmin..." Ryeowook stuttered while twiddling his small fingers nervously. He wanted to smack himself for acting like such a frightened little rabbit. "I-I thought you had left. I th-th-thought you were never going to speak to me again..." he said quickly. He could feel a sob beginning to rise in his throat.

Sungmin gave him a strange look; a mixture of regret and disgust. "Well, to tell you the truth, I wasn't planning on coming back. I just wanted to say goodbye to a few friends, including you. I'm leaving the country, Wookie."

Ryeowook's ayes widened and a tear shifted towards the edge of his eyelids. "What? Why?"

Sungmin sighed and rubbed the bridge of his small nose with his thumb and forefinger. "See, I knew I shouldn't have come back... I knew it would end up like this between you and me... I knew it..."

Ryeowook sniffed while trying his hardest to swallow his tears. "Are you leaving because... Are you leaving because of me?" he dared, his voice barely above a whisper. He had to resist the urge to cover his ears to protect himself from the possible answer.

In other words, he was terrified.

Kyuhyun had been sitting in his seat, back straight, hands clenched as he quietly listened to the emotional conversation between the two young men. Was this Sungmin guy the person Ryeowook had been mourning over when they had first met? Had the two been lovers before? He desperately desired to hold Ryeowook's trembling hands, kiss his pale cheeks, and sing his worries away. But at the moment, such things seemed impossible.

"Yes... I'm sorry, Ryeowook."

Ryeowook blanched, and salty drops of emotion slid along his cheeks and down his long neck. He stared at Sungmin with those wide, honey-brown eyes, and finally let out a tiny choking sob.

"I'm sorry."

And with that, Lee Sungmin, Ryeowook's soulmate, left without another word.

"Ryeowookie... Shh... Don't cry..." Kyuhyun whispered. Once Sungmin had fled the cafe, he had grabbed Ryeowook's quivering body and let him towards his car, which they were now sitting in. Since it was Summer, the interior of the vehicle was depressingly warm. Kyuhyun cranked the air conditioner before he continued rubbing deep circles in the smaller man's back.

Ryeowook was devastated, knowing that he was the soul cause of his friend leaving him for good. His heart had never been beaten to the point of breaking, but now it felt as if it was crumbling inside his chest. Thoughts of regret and guilt were rolling freely in his mind. he wanted nothing more than to sleep for a good long while; possibly forever.

In other words, his universe was being crushed around him.

Kyuhyun, being the caring friend he was, sensed these feelings and thoughts. He wished he could somehow stop the tears from flowing, and the tiny fragile heart from crippling, and the gentle back massage wasn't doing any good.

So he tried another method.

He lifted a hand and slowly placed it underneath Ryeowook's chin, where the sharp bone, met with soft white flesh. Ryeowook glanced up at Kyuhyun with a confused expression. Kyuhyun frowned at the redness of the other man's eyes.

"What are y-you d-d-doing?" Ryeowook stuttered through his tears.

Kyuhyun didn't answer the question. Instead he opened his mouth and whispered into the small man's ear. "You don't need him, Wookie..."

Ryeowook continued to stare curiously at his friend. "Well, I need someone to love me back..." he began with a hiccup and a sniff. The tears were beginning to slow.

Kyuhyun's mouth curled upwards in a smile. "That's what I'm for," he mouthed. Ryeowook could feel the fluttering movement of lips against his cheekbone. He closed his eyes; leaning into the warm breath, and feeling it move across his face until Kyuhyun's face was positioned directly in front of his own. He opened his eyes and gazed into the other man's exotic black ones. He could feel himself being pulled in until their faces were no more than a centimeter apart.

"That's what you're for," Ryeowook repeated before leaning into Kyuhyun's lips.

As they shared the intimate moment, Ryeowook couldn't help the smile that chased away his tears. Finally, he thought, he had found his match. His one true love. His everything. The one he had been searching for was not Sungmin, but Kyuhyun, the man who had had a deep crush on him during highschool. It was funny, really, how fate worked out for them, and how true happiness finally found them.

In other words, Ryeowook had finally found his true soulmate.

We''ll be okay, he thought to himself, We're going to be okay...

The End ^^
