Dooom, or how SMT:SJ humbled me

So I was doofing about in Fornax, falling through pits and being generally confident in my skills and levels, nevermind that poison is hugely annoying.

And then the Demonica went 'warning! strong demon around here!' And I said 'ooh! a boss! Excitement!' and saved and paused. I assumed the boss was the red dot on my mini-map, and did the enemy scan.

It was the Black Rider. I eyed him, then decided I could take him.

One bout of being utterly thrashed later, I decided I needed to get out of there and grind.

...then I realized I could walk past him and then ran into the real plot boss. I...am not going to fight him at this time. I want to see if I can take the Black Rider first, with a prepared team.

tl;dr it's like the time a few days ago when I popped in SMT:Nocturne for about half an hour of grinding in hard mode and got slaughtered by the second random encounter.

I swear I am usually good at these games! I swear that SMT is usually easy-ish for me to play! It's just...preparation is key and SMT will destroy you if you aren't ready. And sometimes it hates your guts and will give you a surprise attack/back attack and slaughter you.
