Well, I have an interview with Norfolk Florist on Baker Rd. today at 1:15pm. I'm very excited, but I'm worried about what to wear. It's a very casual place, one of those businesses that looks like a hole in the wall, but is actually very well off. A nice shirt and some clean, dark jeans with black flats? Go office professional and wear black slacks, heels (my slacks won't go with anything else), and a nice shirt?
I had my first class at TCC today. Introduction to Sociology! I love the teacher. She's very passionate about what she teaches and challenges us to think. I was a little disappointed in my classmates for not being engaged enough in their education to make guesses at the answers to the questions she posed (and felt like a suck-up for answering them myself), but at least the teacher likes me already. :D
After Sociology, I had Astronomy class in the science building. Omg, let me tell you about my adventure to science mountain:
I looked at the map of TCC that the counsellors office gave me, hopped in my car, and set off. All I found was the ATC building. I asked someone who was walking how to get there, and she told me to follow College Crescent all the way past ATC, so I kept going. All I found was the HEB. x.x So I tried to find parking at ATC so I could go onto main campus and ask someone, but there was absolutely NO parking spaces! So I went to the adjecent parking lot (which was a bit of a walk away), and trekked through the cold. A boy (gasp)! directed me to walk behind ATC onto the edge of main campus, and I would find it. There was nothing there but a field. I called my mom and began to whine, and as I rounded the far corner of ATC, I found the science building. My class ended at 10:45, and it was 10:30. I was pissed. The science building was NOT where it was supposed to be on the map. It's an entire football field NORTH of where the map said it was!!
So I missed my first Astronomy class...
Last night, I discovered that I don't have nearly enough money for my textbooks. I have no money at all. I'm negative in my account!! How the heck did that happen?! After calculating the total for my books online (over $600 for FIVE books!!) I called my mom, who had the same kind of panic attack I did, and told me she doesn't have nearly enough money to give me for books. I felt so bad for her, and stupid for coming home, as semi-necessary as it was. So, I grit my teeth, swallowed my pride, and called my dad.
As crazy and mentally unsound as that man is, he graciously provided me with enough money to get four of my textbooks. He says once I take care of the negative amount on my bank account, he'll give me the rest. That will be taken care of shortly, as my mum is going to give me at least that much to get me out of the negatives until I can get $70 from Barnes and Noble (for my textbooks), and start working. *nod*
I'm not sure if I'm going to nail this florist job, though... After the guy called me, I found out that I need to take a lab with my astronomy class. My hours for this job would be 12-6pm, and every Monday, I have an astronomy lab from 1-3:50. :/
But I'll give it my all! Wish me luck!
