(no subject)
Today, I rode my bike to work for the first time; 8.5 miles each direction at an average of 10 mph. I didn't ride from my house, but from a co-workers house, as he lives near the D&R Canal, which is a much more level and traffic-free path to the office. The downside is that both his house and my office (and my house, for that matter) are on hilltops, with valleys in between, so both rides start with a lot of downhill riding and end with a lot of uphill. Nevertheless, I survived it, and will hopefully do it again tomorrow.
Riding in early in the morning, I managed to stay pretty cool and just changed my shirt when I got to work. Riding home in the late-day heat, not so much. I stink like the locker room at fat camp.
Wildlife spotted and/or nearly run over: baby bunny, countless squirrels, many geese, and a chipmunk.
