Okay, this image is semi-big and stuff, so I put it behind a cut, but you should look at it, because its a really cool crucifixion scene ~nodnod~ and mary Magdalene is
pretty. Look:
I've been wanting to put up this painting for a while --
I love it so much. It's by Luca Signorelli, and it's in Florence, at the Uffizi. and while I went to Florence knowing a *lot* of the really kickass stuff, i didnt know what this was. It actually stopped me dead in my tracks while I was walking to another room (sort of like those Blake prints at the Met xD).
It's not like, extraordinarily beatiful or anything, like a high Renaissance master, but, I *love* this magdalene. I like her because she's not the shrieking wailing Magdalene or the mutely passive one. I like the way she bows to Jesus -- its more courtly, like one would show respect and obeisance to one's king, if one was a general. And I, for one, think Magdalene as a female general is just cool. I like this magdalene; there is a certain gravitas about her. I could totally see her weilding a sword. That, and the background itself sort of feels like a chaotic battle (well, as "chaotic" as any Renaissance depiction of a holy scene on earth is).
Yup yup. <3 this Magdalene ^^
Other than that, going slightly crazy while my body is really sluggish because I am refusing it caffeine.
And procrastinating and listening to Hyde hoping it will somehow motivate me? >_>
I have no plan but that’s alright
