The kittens came a callin'...

Been a while since I've posted here...

Work has been busy, stressful, busy and stressful. I've worked too many hours both at and away from work. I never thought I would be in the education arena or atleast not this early in life. In some ways, I never gave teaching the true respect it deserves when I was younger. I didn't disrespect it because I did admire many of my teachers. I just don't think I knew at the time the dedication it takes and gave it the due credit. So, now I find myself coming around the corner into my third year as an instructor.

Life has been flipped around a bunch this year. I've lost two family members and watched numerous other friends/family members battle various illnesses with cancer being infamously popular. Heading into the fall, I'm confronted with the fact that I'll have to make some choices for the following spring. I moved back home over three years ago and have had the pleasure to enjoy my parent's hospitality. (I do pay rent and all, but that's not the same as to not living at home.) My parents are on the verge of retiring with my dad being the first come this November. He took a nice package from Verizon along with most other managers in the company. They plan on selling the house in the spring/summer and moving to Florida. So, that yields a decision to be made as to what do I do next? I'm a New Jersey native and I do enjoy it here, but the long term cost of living out right sucks. Also, I don't picture NJ being my final resting place... So what to do...

Despite the numerous frustrations with work, it has been rewarding and beneficial. I would wager to say that it will give me a lot of options for where I go next or if I stay. Options I did not have three years ago.
