My body hates me and for good reason!
I went to AC this weekend for Rob's b-day. We got there in the early evening, got a quick bite to eat, and preceded to gamble at Bally's. I guess I'm not much of a gambler, preference-wise nor ability, so I stopped after I was about $50 or so down. That's not that bad, I know, but I can find many other ways to piss away my money. Rob faired better. He came away with close to $300. At one point, he was up $1000 having done very well on the poker/blackjack tables. His downfall was playing again after the club.
So, yeah, we didn't spend the whole time gambling. We also went to the Casbah (yes, think rock casbah) at the Taj Mahal. I had a good time dancing there, but overall, I didn't like the atmosphere for the club. First off, TOO MANY FRIGGIN PEOPLE. We couldn't get in for almost twenty mins due to occupancy limits. When we got in, people were jam-packed like sardines. Dancing meant being limited to standing in place and throwing your hands around. But, I had the perverse idea of actually dancing to the music. I found a kind soul that helped me find the dance floor in that mob and then I strutted my stuff. Okay, I really couldn't strut my stuff for most of the night because I hit one ankle, knee, calf, or what-have-you every second. It was most frustrating. As the night went on, it got better as some people filtered out or people got a clue and said, "Hey this guy can dance", and gave me more room. The dance floor itself was gross. I would not want to be the person cleaning up after a night at the Casba. The floor was littered with silvery foil confetti that was dropped from the ceiling throughout the night. Mixed in for good measure was just about everything drunk people could get on the floor. Can we say fall on your ass time? Fortunately, I didn't, but I came close on more than several occasions. Others were less fortunate. How did I have a good time? Met some interesting people on the floor and got to spend the time dancing with a few friends who were down for Rob's b-day. That made up for it. With that said, the likelihood of returning to that club is doubtful unless there was good reason. I definitely would not return for a general clubbing experience. I had a much better clubbing experience at the Borgata the last time I went out in AC.
I didn't leave AC until 5:30 am which was not that long after I left the club. I headed straight up to north Jersey to drop off the car and catch my flight. In other words, I never went to bed. Which is where I'm headed now that I have a chance to do so!
