Driving Across Montana (again)

Aug 31, 2016 18:20

Long and boring day without much walking -- just driving to Yellowstone, mostly. There was a lot of haze from fires and the humidity. We set up camp in Norris Campground, and went to the ranger program, which was on survival stories. The ranger was clearly a writer first, and he performed the talk like an actor -- which was actually kind of cool. He started with Truman Everett, and then one of the characters in the Kiowa creation story, and ended with wolf 755. I had known about his former mate 06 but not about him, so that was pretty interesting.

We saw a bison out near the camp afterwards but it wasn't that exciting after seeing all of them in Teddy Roosevelt.
