I started trying to write an episode for Strange Cakes, which, for those unfamiliar with it, has this as its premise:
Magical girl series, where our protagonist fights extradimensional horrors with the aid of The Cookbook Man Was Not Meant To Know Of. Non-euclidean spatulas ensue.
One might view this as jumping the gun, given that results would count as enterable into a contest at RMF but said contest has not been decided on yet. However, my view is that either I effectively shift the working time forwards a bit, or end up writing it anyway even if there's nothing to enter it into; it is, after all, an idea I wanted to try using even before the possibility of a contest came up.
There are some things not mentioned in that premise, though. The main girl has a (pyrokinetic, effectively) sidekick, for example, as well as the traditional mascot. I'm thinking one will want to eat the other, though, due to appearing delicious...
