I'm...getting...BRACED!
Yes, today is the day that I, Meghan Elizabeth Hyde, get braces. Only on the tops for right now, and in 3-4 months I get the bottoms. Why am I getting braces, you ask? Becuase I have an overbite and crowding. Yup, that's what me orthodontist says. Last tuesday I got the spacers (which hurt like a witch in a hat) and now, 1 week later, I'm actually getting the braces on. My daddy is picking me upat 10:15 from school so I can go home and brush my teeth/take ibuprofen before we go to the ortho's. :(
Josh Yoder just told me they hurt like a bitch for the first 2 days. booooo.
Oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles I suppose. I only have to have them on for a year and a half, but in my driver's liscense picture I'll just do the closed-mouth smile, and hopefully I can perfect it so I don't end up looking constipated.
I'm getting the ceramic kind, so you will hardly notice them from far away, I think. It will look more like I have a retainer, becuase there will only be one metal bar goign across my teeth and tooth-coloured brackets. I suppose I could still get the fun-coloured bands, but I don't want to.
So, I will update later after I actually get them on at 11:00am September 28th, 2004. Bye.
