As some of you know I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere trying not to kill anyone. And I'm in need of entertainment. So people should tell me what they're writing/drawing/working on. Or how life is treating you. Or rec me stories/music/podcasts. Or interesting links. SOMETHING or I might go crazy.

Mmm yes I do love Japanese horror stories. They're so appropriately creepy without gore. What's the story about?

The Japanese horror story was something about an elevator and going to another world by the use of it, through some ritual. (Stories are found here and here as a follow up to the other)

I'm playing with some concepts of the stories a little, having some guy voluntarily put himself in there and what he finds plus some guy outside in the real world whose trying to find him. HAHA. I'm trying to emulate the subtle creepy, and writing it through series of scenes/drabbles.

Oh yeah, that sounds interesting. So the MC finds out about it, and goes exploring and it goes badly for him? Your description reminds me of Coraline a little.

Yup, something like that. It is a bit of Coraline somewhere there HAHA and Alice in Wonderland (although it's anything but) so I'm playing with the idea that the MC went there to escape from something that could possibly be the murder of his mother. So there's a bit of mystery thing there if I could pull it off. Haha, the other guy's supposed to go find him or something too. O_O

Is the other guy his friend? Or is there another reason the guy wants to find him?

I love Coraline so that sounds awesome.

Yup, they're friends and he's also responsible for enabling the whole thing since if he didn't tell his friend how to go about it properly he wouldn't have gone into the elevator world HAHA

I love it too! :O I always like stories about going to other, strange worlds.

Ah nice, so he feels all responsible and guilty. Perfect.

Neil Gaiman does the best "Ordinary person in a strange world" stories. Stardust is my favourite of his.

Yep. He doesn't actually successfully find the guy in the elevator world until years later though HAHA

Damn I should read Stardust already :O

That should be an interesting reunion. :P

You should! It's a fun book and reminds me a little of Princess Bride.

I'm in a place called Sarina. Lovely place but not very much going on.

Yeah but not good beaches. More like....well, flat waves and flat sands.
