The only attraction I had for Café Sunrise, slightly further up the road from Café Good Luck, apart from its antique furniture and authentic Irani chai served with two dates, were the horses M. F. Husain sketched after drinking tea there and signing it to the owner.

It was a surprise to see a group of Assamese painters holding an exhibition of their work at CKP in the last week of April, 2006.  I was very impressed by the realist work done by most of them.  Some memorable names to register were Manoj Roy, Debananda Ulup, Raj Kumar Majinder, Nikhileswar Baruah and Laishram Surjit Khuman.  The themes that these ( Read more... )
