Café Good Luck
Café Good Luck at the Deccan area of Poona retains only the glassed walls with etched Persian motifs, and not too many stories. The menu offers more than just the bun maska and chai. The cups and saucers have 1935 painted on them. Unlike Café Yezdaan’s elderly customers, Good Luck has a steady rush of students from the nearby Fergusson College.
A handful of senior customers, who may have been regularly visiting the café for about 15 years or more, do sometimes come, sit and brood. They speak with no one and even if they do, it is only in gestures. They used to twitch their eyes at the waiters whenever they wanted more tea; their rainy evenings and Irani chai.
