Fair Trail: Awe Inspiring Architecture

I had been to the Jama Masjid several times, but never got a chance to take a view from the top, to identify the literal meaning of mosque that commands a view of the world (masjid-i-jahan numa - another name of the Jama Masjid).  The minaret gave me a wonderful view of the old city of Delhi and made be push and huddle amidst a thronging of people from all over the world cramped in the spherical pavilion of 5 feet aweing the view and the architecture and also the historical imprints of love-lorn idiots who didn't spare the marble floor of the pavilion or the sandstone roof.

These two minarets are about 150 feet high and each has about 150 steps arranged in a spiral to the projecting gallery at the top of the minaret.  Only one minaret is open for the public.  One has to buy a ticket that costs INR 10 to enter the minaret.  From the minaret, one can see all the gates to the mosque.
