And, he is the Zero Stone watchman in Poona. Selling water melons there as a boy on the pavement beside the Zero Stone for 20 years, this man had been significantly reminded of the importance of the stone very few times only. His photograph had been published in a Poona heritage book. He recalled that he had been photographed many years ago and was least surprised to see his photograph, when I showed the book to him. All he was concerned with was that his business should not suffer.
He wasn't there when I was around that area in the first week of this month. Maybe he will be back in the melon season.
