FOTW: Part 10 (bandom)
So, I decided my Christmas gift to the flist will be days and days of fic recs (Yes, still called Fics of the Week. Er, I procrastinate a lot). I will be posting five fic recs to a particular fandom a day, running between now and January Sixth. I was going to sort the bandom fics out based on band, but I read a lot of interband fics, so that didn't quite work out.
That is to say, today is a bandom day.
...And that is all I have in the form of a segue. I'm just awesome like that.
My Chemical Romance
Crunchy and Taste good with Ketchup by carleton97. It's a fic where Bob is a dragon and Gerard is his treasure. Do I need to say more? Because if I do, I can go on about how it's well-written and it's funny. And Gerard is Bob-the-Dragon's Treasure. It's just a slice of awesome crack!fic. I assume the summary gives it away, but in any case - Bob/Gerard.
Panic at the Disco
Till You Make it by emilyray. So. I have four absolute favorite tropes that will get me to read anything. I do mean anything, by the way. One of them is dating-without-realizing/pretend!boyfriends. Yes, I do throw them together *G* Anyway, this long Jon/Brendon fic is a highschool AU where Jon pretends to date Brendon and takes him to prom as his pretend!Boyfriend.
It's epically awesome. Jon and Spencer are what make junior year of high school awesome. Jon plays the triangle! Jon and Brendon think Ryan is an invisible friend. Ryan is awesome! Jon is afraid of Greta, which is why he asks Brendon to be his pretend!boyfriend. Er, how about y'all just go and read the fic rather than watch me babble kind of aimlessly?
Next on the list is Swimming out in the Blue by sunsetmog. I don't quite know where to start with this fic. I mean, this fic is awesome, and it's sad and it hurts my soul and makes my heart glad at the same time. Everyone thinks Brendon and Shane are dating, but Brendon and Shane don't realize that they love each other. But than they do.... And since everyone already 'knew' they were dating, they were gigantic assholes.
Seriously, this fic makes me all teary whenever I read it, but it's so GOOD. *reread it twice as she wrote this post* So. Good!
Bandom Crossover: Fall Out Boy/My Chemical Romance
The fourth fic up on the list is Accidentally, a Pete/Gerard fic by impertinence. I don't even know where to start. You know how I said that I have four absolute favorite tropes, which will get me to read anything? One of which is accidental!marriage/waking-up-married. Which this fic is. It's a good thing this fic is also extremely awesome in every way, yes? Pete was drunk and Gerard was caffeine deprived in Vegas. So they woke up married!
I. Guys. It's awesome and adorable and I <3 this fic on so many levels. Seriously. Plus, Pete/Gerard. It's totally a sekrit!favorite!pairing.
The last, but certainly not least, fic up on the list is Hopeless by ink-like-blood. It's a pretty awesome Patrick/Bob fic, and I love Patrick/Bob. Actually, considering they shared an apartment? Why isn't there more Patrick/Bob fic?
So, Patrick likes Bob, and than Patrick kisses Bob because Pete told Patrick that Bob liked Patrick back... and Bob turned Patrick down because he doesn't do hook-ups with friends. It's just a lovely piece of writing, and more people need to read it. *G*
