I've always wanted to try out mosiac art so when my Co. organised a mosiac workshop class I was totally psyched! It was a pretty novel experience for me because I've never worked with tiles before. I think everyone spent the most effort thinking of the colour scheme but after that, the rest was pretty straightforward.
Here's my masterpiece for the day! I thought it looked quite amateurish but my mum seems to like it. Halfway through it, I looked at the lady next to me and I kinda regretted not going for a more striking colour like blue or green. To be honest, I took the easy way out and decided on pink since it was the most available colour I could find. It reminds me of a brick wall made of pink candy, and I'm tempted to pick at it one by one and nibble. heh.
Anyway the past week seems to be surrounded by happy news of proposals and get together stories so it was quite an exciting one. I think Cupid must be busy at work. Met up with some friends for drinks and supper and stayed up way past my bedtime. It was such fun and I forget how much of a homebody I can be. I really should get out more. :)
I missed out on the opening of an art show (coz I was making up for my lack of sleep from the night before) and I'm pretty bummed out about it now. Not everyday you get invites to such chi-chi events. I figured I need to stop being so much of a couch potato and be more open and spontaneous to new experiences! It takes so much discipline though, with the lazy weather and my lazy bones...I made a new discovery this weekend - did you know
Cedele sells the most amazing
Pavlova? It used to be my favourite dessert when I was studying Down Under so when I saw it I knew I had to have it. Light, crisp, chewy and not overly sweet, it was heavenly. It tasted like a nest of meringuey cloud, just the way I would imagine a cloud to taste like.
I'm really glad that the Holly Hobbie cameos were so well-received the first time so I decided to import some more. In addition, I've got the most beautiful, artisan-like Alice in Wonderland cameos that I'm so excited about. Can't wait to create something!
